There are talks for Robert Pattinson to be a part of the cast of Denis Villeneuve's next science fiction movie, Dune 3. The actor is being considered for the part of Scytale, a malicious shapeshifter who is essential to the storyline of the film's inspiration, Frank Herbert's 1969 novel Dune: Messiah.

This possible casting fits with Pattinson's stated desire to be a part of the Dune series. He emphasized his love for the series in a 2022 interview when he said that Dune was one of the few movies for which he wanted to do a sequel. Additionally, director Denis Villeneuve has expressed excitement about working with Pattinson, saying that he is a huge fan of the actor's work and that it would be an absolute joy to work with him.
